A fine 17th Century wool and silk Verdure tapestry of large scale, the central field depicting a woodland scene overlooking a lake with a mill seen in the distance. The trees feature richly shaded foliage throughout with a fruiting horse chestnut to the left, wild flowers and brambles below with small birds scattered amongst the scene. The border lined with floral garlands and plumes of feathers to the corners.
