A fine Val Saint Lambert cobalt blue crystal glass vase, with tiered geometric cut-to-clear decorations throughout.
Founded in 1816, Val Saint Lambert opened as the first Belgian crystal maker, headed by the chemist Francois Kemlin and engineer Auguste Lelievre. In 1841 Val Saint Lambert received its first award for pure, refined and coloured crystal. It continued to have a successful career until World War I where the furnaces shut down for four years, re-opening in 1926 with over 5,000 employees. Val Saint Lambert begins to operate with external designers such as Philippe Starck, Samuel Herman, Yann Zoritchac and others. Val Saint Lambert is still operating today.
