France, circa 1950

A mid 20th century French sculptural desk lamp in the form of a twisted rope, attributed to Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet.

Designers Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet were working together in mid 20th century France, designing and making furniture and lighting out of materials such as sea grass, rush, woven abaca and pine. They appealed to a wider demographic than many designers of the time due to the natural materials they used. Because of this, they associated themselves with the Union des Artistes Modernes, an organisation set up in 1929 to rebel against the lavish design tastes of the era.

Height of rope lamp 18.00cm

Height with shade 34.00cm
