A pair of carved and gilded armchairs conceived in the Empire taste, the mahogany frames with carved and gilded swan heads to the arms and the signature Jansen rosette to the tops of the square tapering legs. The frames stamped multiple times with an unidentified brand; the firm deflected credit for a commission to the client, demurely refraining from self-promotion.
